Camping in winter
Do you want to go outdoors for a weekend? Go camping in wintertime in a cozy Ventje! It is so peacefull and quit at the campsites in winter. Go for a walk in the forest, and stay warm and dry in your van with a hot choco after. Make a campfire in the evening and enjoy nature at it’s best. A weekend full of winter-adventure in the Netherlands, we give you five tips where you can go.
1. Landgoed De Wielewaal (Flevoland)
This beautiful nature campsite is located close to the Nijkerkernauw lake and is perfect for winter camping. Park your Ventje by the water or under the trees on the wide grounds of this campsite and go on a walk alongside the Randmeren. And the best thing, when you return to your campervan, you can make a fire outside and you are allowed to cook on it too! Experience the real outdoorlife. For the real adventurers amongst us, jump into the cold water in the morning. You are wide awake after, for sure.
2. Nature campsite De Vlagberg (Noord-Brabant)
On this cozy winter camping you can go on a walk with the forester, on the heathland of the Vlagberg. This site is completely eco-friendly, down to the sanitary facilities. Think of water-saving toilets and showers, solar panels and environmentally friendly cleaning products. The site is located on a large forest and heathland, where you can get lost among the sheep and the Scottish Highlanders. You can also make a fire outside here, at the covered fire pit. You can also warm up by the fire in the log cabin. Bring a good book and doze off.
3. Camping de Klashorst (Overijssel)
This outdoor campsite has everything you want. As soon as you have parked your Ventje in a nice spot, you can do a bushcraft walk with a real bushcrafter here. Get to know trees and plants, make fire and spot wildlife trails. After those intensive hours you can relax in your own mobile sauna. And no, that is no joke! This campsite rents out mobile sauna houses that you can put next to your camper. There are also hot tubs on the campsite. Everything you need for a romantic winter camping weekend.
4. Camping Aan de Waterspiegel (Zeeland)
Don’t feel like sharing sanitary facilities? You don’t have to! At this campsite in Zeelandyou can also camp in the winter, and you can rent a sanitary cabin with your camper. You can leave your toilet bag and, not unimportantly, this bathroom-booth has underfloor heating. Are you in need of some body heat? There are alpacas here that roam the grounds! So cuddle away. And another advantage, the campsite is only 2.5 kilometers from the sea.
5. Landal Rabbit Hill
You might not have expected this one in this list, but this Landal campsite has a very nice location, in the middle of the Veluwe. From the campsite you can walk to Radio Kootwijk via a beautiful path, about eight kilometers long. In winter it is not that busy, so you do not have to expect lots of people. Also nice, they have campspots with private sanitary facilities and there is an indoor, warm swimming pool. Do you feel like going after this? We get that. Rent a Ventje!
