Electric camper van eVentje wins Sustainability Award 2024.

Ventje won the Sustainable Camping Award 2024 on October 2nd. The jury praised Ventje for their innovative camping vehicles, which have gained international recognition. “The use of circular materials such as wood and sheep’s wool and the collaboration with social suppliers underline their commitment to a sustainable future”.

The annual award for the most sustainable camping equipment is jointly presented by industry leaders ANWB, BOVAG, and NKC. Camper manufacturer Ventje was honored for the interior of its electric camper, the eVentje. This innovative design incorporates environmentally friendly materials such as FSC-certified wood, sheep wool, and linoleum, all of which are produced with a minimal carbon footprint. A substantial solar panel integrated into the pop-top roof supplies the camper with renewable energy, enabling it to operate entirely off-grid.

Ventje owner Frank Westland is proud: “This award is incredibly valuable. Our campervan gives you the freedom to fully enjoy the most beautiful places in nature. And of course, you want to take care of those places. A few years ago, our original Ventje, which runs on fuel, won a sustainability award. It’s fantastic that our electric eVentje has now also been honored, so that more people know that there’s now an electric version available.”

Electric camper
The eVentje is built on the efficient ID.Buzz, allowing you to travel long distances (459 km WLTP) with minimal energy consumption. It’s sustainable and makes it perfect for vacation trips. The compact camper van can also be used as an everyday vehicle and is parked right at your doorstep. You can easily grab it quickly to get out and about: for a weekend getaway, a city trip or big vacation. The interior space feels very spacious and is equipped with all the conveniences thanks to the smart layout, including a kitchen, two double beds, a lounge sofa, a four-seater table, and an outdoor set.

About Ventje
Ventje is a rapidly growing company specializing in the production of sustainable and modular campervans. Ventje employs 60 people and operates two production facilities (totaling 4000 m2) and a rental location in Culemborg. In addition to sales, Ventje has a rental fleet of approximately 40 Ventje campervans. What is convenient about the eVentje?
The eVentje is particularly suitable for year-round travels, as its interior is equipped with all the comforts you need. The eVentje also introduces many novelties:

• A standout feature is the innovative pop-up roof, with an upper bed, fully zip-openable canvas, and a skylight providing a view of the starry sky.
• A new bar table can be unfolded on the side of the camper van, perfect for a drink.
• The kitchen is at the back of the bus. You can cook from outside, standing under the tailgate. With less favorable weather conditions, the kitchen can also be used from inside, as the drawers, large fridge, induction cooktop, and faucet are accessible from both outside and inside.
• The seating area can be adjusted from a 4-seater with table, to lounge sofa, or to a bed. The cushions are made of real mattress padding and the lying space is 2 by 1.4 meters. To achieve this space in the compact ID. Buzz, Ventje’s designers developed a clever system that by sliding the front seats increases the seating and lying space.
• A complete outdoor set emerges from a narrow drawer: two chair legs and a large table, which when assembled together with the seat cushions make for a very comfortable outdoor set. Even two additional matching ottomans are provided.
• The many outlets, USB-C charging points and storage compartments make Ventje a pleasant mobile office. Whatever arrangement you choose to sit in, the many handy storage spaces are always accessible.
• The lifting roof offers standing room and the option of an upper bed. The large solar panel makes the eVentje self-sufficient just like the normal Ventje.
